ASK! Im Asking for JibberJobber Testimonials

ASK! Im Asking for JibberJobber Testimonials Monday I posted Job Seeker Success: Simply ASK! I think its a mega-important principle for career management. When I started JibberJobber I started to do a different kind of networking not as a job seeker, but as an aspiring mega-success. I found, as I networked in that capacity, I had people say what can I do to help you? I really didnt know how to respond to that. I had to figure out a good response that could help people help me. It was uncomfortable at first, but eventually I got used to asking for help, especially when people ASKED how they could help. Weird, huh? So today, Im ASKING you a favor I have been negligent in ASKING for testimonials for JibberJobber.  Many years ago I had asked, but its been a long time.  I have more users now, and the system has advanced quite a bit, and its time that I ASK you to give me testimonials and endorsements I can use in my marketing. Note: Im not ASKING for feedback or things to improve (you can send those to us through the Contact Us form).  Im ASKING for the kudos the good stuff. So please, leave a comment below with a testimonial. If you love it, if you use it, if you need it, if you think its brilliant, if it has made a difference in your career management and job search, please share this with the world, and help me establish more credibility for JibberJobber If you want to leave any personal information, like what industry you are in, what title you typically have, or how you use JibberJobber, please do that (for example, as a non-job seeker, etc.) THANK YOU ASK! When Writing a Resume, It is More Important to Focus on What You Have Than to Focus on What You Dont Have

When Writing a Resume, It is More Important to Focus on What You Have Than to Focus on What You Don't HaveWhen writing a resume, it is more important to focus on what your expertise is. This means you have to focus on the skills that you have and put them in bold letters. You have to also highlight these skills in a way that shows that you are the best at what you do.For example, if you are an accountant, your resume can talk about your expertise as an accountant. You can focus on your major skill - being an accountant. This may include how you earned your accounting degree. By doing this, you show that you are the best person for the job.Other people might prefer to focus on what they do better than an accountant does. You might focus on the skills you have when it comes to marketing or your marketing skills. This might include how you can get more clients for a client when it comes to doing sales. You should also be careful to include a paragraph in your resume about why you want th e job. This will help you attract a potential employer to want to contact you so that you can fill a position. Make sure you highlight the area where you are the best and make the most money.Focus on the skills you possess to have an advantage over other people applying for the same position. As you can see, this will give you an edge over people who don't know what they are doing. This means that you will be able to grab the job.You can also focus on how others may not think you are the best. They may assume that you are the best because of your experience. So make sure that you demonstrate that you can do the job.Make sure you include the skills you use when you are applying for the job. If you have a knack for sales, you need to include that in your resume. If you have good communication skills, you need to include those as well. These will help you stand out from other applicants who don't have the same skills. Finally, focus on the qualities that will get you the job. The only w ay you can do this is by highlighting the skills you have that will be a benefit to the company. Most employers will not hire a person who doesn't have those qualities. You can use those skills to get the job and show the company that you are the best candidate for the job.

The bookkeeper is someone who works within the accounting department. As companies grow and the needs of the business change, so too does the balance sheet. These balance sheets can be quite large in size and need a significant amount of time required to manage them. That is where a bookkeeper comes in. They help to ensure the auditing of the balance sheet is happening on a regular basis. Bookkeeper Interview Questions & Answers 1. If you pay an employee, what is that considered? That is considered an expense on the company, which is a debit on the balance sheet. Of course, there are other expenses related to having the employee on staff, like their benefits program and much more. 2. What is employment tax? Employment tax is the tax that we pay to have someone on staff. This is usually filed on a federal and state level on behalf of the company that the person is employed with. 3. How often should you file federal taxes? Federal taxes should be filed twice per year if you want to be extremely accurate. Though most people file them once per year, though this means you will pay a penalty and that is a way that we can save some additional costs on the business itself. 4. What is a debit and credit? A debit is when we are deducting from our available balance and a credit is when we are adding to our available balance. So for example, a debit is when we owe money or paid money. And a credit is when we are given money or earn money. 5. What software would you use for bookkeeping? Microsoft Excel is the best tool for advanced bookkeeping. It allows us to have complicated data formula’s and significant amounts of rows and columns for our general bookkeeping that other software cannot do. LinkedIn Profile Photo 4 Ways to Find a Great Photographer

LinkedIn Profile Photo â€" 4 Ways to Find a Great Photographer Hiring a professional photographer for your LinkedIn profile photo can be confusing.A few weeks ago, I crowdsourced ideas on how to find a good headshot photographer on LinkedIn and want to share the high-quality suggestions that I received here. Were visual creatures, so your LinkedIn profile picture makes up a critical part of your personal brand. When someone views your profile on LinkedIn and on social networking sites, they look at your photo first. Thus, it makes sense to hire a pro to get the best shot possible.Check out these four ideas from career experts and LinkedIn users:1. Ask Local ColleaguesI would look at the LinkedIn pictures of local colleagues, find one I liked, and ask who their photographer was.Donna Schilder, Executive CoachI love a good referral!2. HeadshotCrew.comHeadshotCrew.com. All of them have been trained by Peter Hurley who is the most well-known headshot photographer.Wendi Weiner, Career Branding ExpertI like Wendis idea because it shows you that the photographer has had quality training and is a member of a professional community. Thus, they continue to learn and improve their product.3. Ask Real Estate Brokers in Your AreaI often recommend contacting a real estate brokerage in your area, as they typically require headshots on every realtor business card and therefore have a good network of (reasonably priced) local headshot photographers.Laura Smith-Proulx, Executive Resume WriterThis would be especially useful in small towns where the two ideas above might not work.4. The Budget SolutionI randomly met a woman who was an amateur photographer. She was practicing her craft and we were able to do my headshots for a low price. My pics turned out great, she was able to add them to her portfolio, and I was able to recommend other people to her. There may be a photography student in your area that just needs to practice and will cut you a deal.Stacey Stringfellow, Banking ExecutiveVetting PhotographersOnce you have a prospect or a list, be sure to check the photographers:Portfoli o.Pricing.Availability.Proof turnaround time.Approach to ensuring your satisfaction.Note: Be leery of using five-star review sites for vetting purposes. Theyre way too easy to game.If all of that works, read the following tips and you will be ready to go!3 Tips for Your LinkedIn Profile PhotoUse this standard pose and smile that tests best on Photofeeler.com.Add this jawline trick from (none other than) Peter Hurley.Wear formal business clothing. It tests best on Photofeeler.com.Polish your profiles look by wearing a color in your photo that you echo in your background image.2 Small Image Tips for Your PhotographerRemind your photographer that this will be a small image on a big page. Because of that, faces get lost:If there is inadequate contrast to clearly distinguish your hair from the photographers background. Fix this at the shoot, not later. In waist-high and standing shots. So make this a headshot, from the top of your shoulders up.3 Technical Tips for Your Photographer400 x 4 00-pixel image sizes work well.LinkedIn limits your uploadable file size to 8MB.LinkedIn limits you to PNG and JPG file types.Uploading Your Photo to LinkedInThis has gotten easier over the years. Thus, Im not going to go into the details here. If you want directions, LinkedIn offers step-by-step help that will have your lovely face up and out to the world in seconds.Let’s Connect on LinkedInPlease don’t hesitate to invite me to connect on LinkedInhere:Donna Svei, Executive Resume Writer. How To Improve Your Career Path as a Graphic Designer - CareerEnlightenment.com

How To Improve Your Career Path as a Graphic Designer Graphic designers can enjoy rewarding, engaging careers that fulfill their creative urges while still letting them pay the bills. That’s not to say that attractive opportunities for professionals in this space are easy to come by; you still need to make careful decisions if you want to get ahead. If you’re a graphic designer who feels like you are stagnating in your current role, here are a few tips to follow to give your career the boost it needs right now as well as improving its trajectory in the long term.Refine your focusA graphic designer can be a jack of all trades, dabbling in various aspects of design from day-to-day. This is fine for some, but if you are sick of being sporadically deployed to different projects and feel like you’re spread too thinly to really let your talents shine, opting to take on a more focused role could help. For example, you might consider becoming a motion graphic designer, capitalizing on the demand for this skill at the moment and also specializing in an area that will only become more relevant in this highly competitive segment of the job market.Go freelanceThis is not an option for everyone, but even if you do not want to take the plunge and become a freelance designer rather than working for one agency, there are still opportunities for expanding your portfolio as well as your career options if you take on some freelance work.Finding clients as a freelancer has never been easier and it is a great way to run a business from your home, escaping the office politics and distractions that can really be vexing. If you develop a following on social media, many clients will end up coming to you, and you could even promote yourself as an environmental graphic designer on social media.   Want to Read More Articles Like This One?Sign up here to receive weekly updates from Career Enlightenment, and never miss another powerful job searching tip! Develop different skillsOne of the key reasons that a graphic designer’s career can hit a plateau too soon is if they stop acquiring new skills and are instead limited to doing the same old things over and over again, missing out on job opportunities and promotions as a result.Training is the best way to overcome this, and there are myriad means of learning new things and expanding your skillset in a way that will make you more valuable to employers. In some cases, your existing firm may offer to pay for training, or you could make use of free online resources to achieve this. Perhaps you may want to dig into web design, motion design or video making. All of those are in high demand right now.Become an educatorThis is an alternative to pursuing an extended career as a graphic designer, but one which many people find rewarding. If you have a solid background in education under your belt, including a postgraduate degree, then taking up the art of teaching others graphic design could be a good move. There are plenty of different ways to go about this, as well as a variety of approaches to education that you might want to adopt. From dealing solely with the nuts and bolts of graphic design to espousing on the theories which define the practice, the world is your oyster. This is also an area of rapid growth, with plenty of demand for academics dealing in a variety of subjects. Add to that the fact that remuneration for teaching at a postsecondary level can be higher than you might earn as a graphic designer in the first place and the reasons to make the switch become even more compelling.

Four Interview Tips for Sarah Palin

Four Interview Tips for Sarah Palin You could say that Sarah Palin had a bad interview experience last week when she visited Boston and was asked about Paul Reveres famous ride. Here are four interview tips for Palin and anyone else trying to perform better during an interview.Research the company you are meeting with before the interview. You can find company information on LinkedIn, TheVault, Hoovers, Glassdoor, and AnnualReports.com. Most employers want to know that you are serious enough about them to have spent some time learning about them before the interview. Perhaps if Sarah Palin had looked at the website for the Old North Church where she was visiting she would have nailed the Paul Revere question.Theres no such thing as a gotcha question. You can do well on interviews if you are prepared. Review your accomplishments and try to match your accomplishments to the needs of the company. Even brain teaser questions are not designed to trick you, but rather to help employers understand how you think and solve prob lems. There really arent any trick interview or gotcha questions as Palin suggestJust unprepared interviewees.Dont make stuff up. If you dont know something or dont have an example of something  related to an employers question dont make it up. Focus on how you would handle a particular situation if you were to encounter it. Palins responses contained inaccuracies and comments not based on fact.  And just as her inaccuracies were easy to verify, yours may be easy to verify as well.If you flub an interview question move on. If something doesnt go well during the interview, let if go and move on. Rebound by showcasing examples of your strengths and send a follow up thank you letter reminding the employer why you are a great match for the job and letting them know you continue to be interested. Dont focus on the negatives. Palin decided to appear on FOX to explain her responses. Im not convinced that won her any interview points.
